Got to the trailhead a little after 7:15 and there were 2 cars in the lot. The trail is in pretty good shape and there were only a few spots of mud on the way up. Most of the elevation gain is over the first 3/4 mi and after that it’s a lot more mild of an incline.
You’re in the woods for most of the hike but once you get to the last 1/4 mi it starts to open up to the top of the trail. Once you’re up top you’ll see the 1.66 mi trail marker and just around the bend is the ridge! It was the perfect place to stay for a few minutes and enjoy some breakfast.
Unfortunately it was a foggy morning so we didn’t have much of a view but that’s okay. Was still a great hike!
Once we got back down to the lot there were maybe only 10 cars including our own and we say very few groups of people on our way up and down. Was nice to be on a trail that wasn’t over-crowded.
