Chelan Lakeshore Trail — Wednesday, Jun. 15, 2022

Central Cascades > Entiat Mountains/Lake Chelan
Somewhere on the Lake Chelan Shoreline Trail

Overall, its an amazing long day hike or a night or two (we did two nights) from Prince Creek to Stehekin.  I have been backpacking maybe 80-100 times from solo to groups, one night to many, and this was an outstanding backpacking trip for my sweetie who had never been backpacking before. We went with one friend.
We took the 8:30 ferry from Chelan to Prince Point arriving at 10:20 and hiked 6 or so miles to Meadow Creek Campsite (pit toilet) arriving at 4pm after taking breaks as needed along the way. There was ample room for the 4 groups and plenty of more space and 4 firepits too. Easy access to running water. AMAZING views the entire way thanks to majestic mountains and a magical lake along the way.  There were a few hills with switchbacks that I scaled quickly and the other two took their time. We saw endless lupine, yellow salsify, collomia, tiger lilies, Cascade mountain ash, Scotch broom (invasive) and another 10 wild flowers.  We also saw two grouse.
We then departed Meadow Creek at 10:30 and passed by Moore Point (where I hear there are tons of campsites) but bypassed to arrive 5 to Flick Point (with a fancy toilet) at 4pm. There is one or two other campsites 1/4 mile away.  We camped at the shelter with the fire pit and dock. There are also a few sites right against the shelter on the point, but those must get tons of wind, so be sure to stake your tent or it may fly away.
The next day we left at 11am and arrived to the National Park Lakeside Campground at 1:30, just about 3 miles, but we took two long long breaks to look at the really spectacular views, and recover from a rattlesnake scare.  by 2:30 we were set up at the campsite and already had walked the 100 feet to arrive into Stehekin, where we caught the bus to Stehekin Ranch and had delicious dinner.  We were back at the site by 8pm, had a shot of Scotch and called it a night.
The next day, we were up at 7 to break down the campsite and head over to rent bikes, drop our packs and bike 2-miles to Stehekin Pastry Shop Bakery where we filled up and biked back to catch the 10am ferry with plenty of time to spare. We took the long ferry and stopped at Lucerne to pick up Holden folk and heard their stories and were back in Chelan by 2ish.
I had never backpacked with ferries or bikes or restaurants… it was truly an amazing experience.
