The road up was rough, but not impossible. (Toss up whether this road or Mount Pilchuck is worse.) Compacted snow all the way, especially in the parking lot. The restrooms at the trailhead are closed, FYI.
We arrived at the trailhead at about 11:15, with plenty of parking left at the trailhead. It took us about four hours to get up and about three hours to get down. (We're slow hikers.) At the top, the trail was well compacted, with about a foot of snow covering the ground. Going up wasn't too hard, but coming down, we wished we had remembered to bring our microspikes. The last hour of the hike was in complete darkness, but thankfully we had remembered our headlamps. It was about 13° F once we reached the trailhead and my beard was completely frozen over.
