The Larch have turned in the Washington Pass area and the trail was crazy busy.
The mix of sun, snow, and cold have left sections of ice on the trail where it traverses beyond the climber's trail. Looks like snow melt has come out through the bit of cut-bank up hill from the trail tread and frozen in sheets. Yaktrax were enough on the way to the lake, but in late afternoon, did not grip in a few spots (I was wishing I'd brought my crampons; however, there were people struggling across the stuff in tennis shoes).
Lake is open; outlet was flowing and easy to cross on big, flat rocks. Tarns are ice crusted.
