My wife and I had a great walk into Ipsut Creek Campground.
I expected to see many more faces, based on the amount of cars parked at the trailhead, but was pleased to pass very few people on our trip. We started out around 12:30, and made the 10 mile roundtrip in about 3.5 hours hiking time. We stopped for lunch at the Chenius Falls spur and then decided to continue on to Ipsut Creek Campground. The river crossing (to Chenius Falls) is in great shape.
The Patrol Cabin at the campground seems to have some recent work done to it, based on the smell of freshly cut cedar in the air and new shutters on the windows.
Walking back later in the day allowed for some spectacular scenery with the sun beaming through the huge Fir and Cedar trees.
All, in all, the hike was great and the weather was wonderful. Bugs were present, but not a problem.
Planning to bike-in to the campground soon for further exploration to Mystic Lake and Ipsut Pass.
