Paddy-Go-Easy Pass is a pleasant, moderately steep trail that is lightly traveled. We forged on the extra .6 miles to Sprite Lake. Its definitely worth it as the pass itself is a bit underwhelming.
Starting with road conditions- rough with washboard, potholes and a creek crossing of about 10-12" deep. Saw numerous passenger cars beyond so I will say its all doable, its just a long, rough road in.
The trail is overgrown for the first mile or so with a few creek crossings/ mushy conditions and then breaks out into the open. There are numerous viewing areas of the surrounding peaks on the way up. After reaching the pass the trail to Sprite Lake becomes somewhat of a braid of trails but they all eventually come together and get you to the delightful little Alpine Lake. We had lunch here and checked out the backside of the lake which has a couple of suitable overnight camping spots. Bugs were not bad even when we stopped but I did manage to pick up a couple of bites, but I always do. (The bugs love me)
We saw only 2 cars at the trailhead (on a holiday weekend) and only encountered two other day hikers.
