Bear Lake — Friday, Jun. 21, 2019

Eastern Washington > Spokane Area/Coeur d'Alene

Hiked in the early evening after work.  Encountered some mosquitoes and several patches of gnats but it was early evening and it is near a lake, so to be expected.  Took two turns around the trail that circles the lake and it averaged 22 minutes but I do walk pretty fast.  Paved path accessible throughout except on the northeast corner where the paved trail is under water.  A path has been cut off to the side but has quite a bit of exposed rock making strollers and wheelchairs unable to continue through.  Some uneven surfaces on north end due to heaving from tree roots under the paved trail - still very passable for strollers and wheelchairs.  Great place to picnic, swim, and even fish.  Lots of wildflowers viewable on this visit.  No fee to enter the park.  Parking areas on east, west, and south to access trail.  Bring the whole family (pets welcome as well)!
