The objective today was to climb The Tooth, but since we were on the trail to Source Lake, I figured a trip report might be helpful for those wanting to head that way (or further up towards Pineapple Pass). The Snow Lake trail is largely snow free (a few patches here and there) until the junction with the Source Lake trail, where it becomes completely covered in snow. There are a few stream crossings, but nothing too tricky. I highly recommend being comfortable with snow travel if heading out this way right now. We got out our ice axes and helmets in the bowl above the lake, since it is a decently steep slope down to the lake basin.
If you want to head up Pineapple Pass and climb The Tooth, the stream crossing is a bit tricky right now. We stayed to the right of it, climbing up some steep snow banks. The snow melt is going quickly right now, so conditions are not very ideal. We only made it to the base of the gully heading up to Pineapple Pass before turning around; it had been raining steadily for about an hour, so we knew there would be no dry rock for the day.
Plenty of blooming trillium and glacier/avalanche lilies!
