To access the trailhead, turn right towards the campsites after entering the park. It's not down by the water.
We did the Bitterbrush loop and skipped the short loop. We went left at the intersection so it was a gradual climb the whole way, then a little steeper descent to get back to the fork. The trail was in great condition, just one section where the snowberry was slightly overgrown. We both did the walk in sandals. Really nice views of the lake!
Wildflowers were starting to fade a bit, but I'd bet they'll still be OK this weekend! Saw lots of tall oregon grape and arrowleaf balsamroot, and a little indian paintbrush and some kind of pink phlox.
