We decided on a sunrise run of Dirty Harry's Peak because of its proximity to the freeway (shorter drive time from Seattle), moderate elevation and mileage, and because we'd never been before. All three of us were SO pleased with this choice. The trail is perfectly maintained and a really nice grade all the way to the summit. Plus, from halfway and beyond you're rewarded with stunning views of McClellan and the surrounding peaks. We all agreed that this is a much more enjoyable hike than Mt. Si, with comparable drive time / distance / gain.
Started at the trailhead at 5:30, reached the summit just before 7, and back to the car shortly after 8. We were the only people in the parking lot and on the trail. Intermittent snow started around 400 feet from the summit, and by 200 feet from the top it was consistent and covered the ground. Just a few slippery parts, nothing our trail runners couldn't handle, so we never pulled out our microspikes. All in all an awesome morning with a really runnable, enjoyable peak bagging trail.
