Not too much to add to previous reports except to reiterate that the road is absolutely terrible. Do not attempt in a non-high clearance car. There are two spots in particular where many cars, even my high clearance Element, will or may bottom out. Lots of rocks on the road too so go slow to avoid getting a flat.
Some ice on the trail in the morning, which turned mostly to slippery mud in the afternoon.
Heard reports of bears, but didn't see any.
Despite a sign clearly saying "no pets" there was a group with a dog up at the lookout. I felt very bad for the dog; it looked very scared and growled at me when I got up to the top. Given the terrain I was surprised that someone would be bring a dog up to the top, and can understand why the dog would be scared. As a result I spent only a minute or two at the top; I didn't want to make the dog more scared and didn't want the dog to do anything that would knock me off the rocks. It's a shame that people feel like the rules don't apply to them.

Mountaineaters on Hidden Lake Lookout
Actually the sign says no dogs at the lake/National Park. They are allowed on the trial and at the lookout!
