Solo backpacked here Labor Day weekend. The first camp, Railroad Camp, is a series of several tent pads lining the trail and was almost full, to be expected on a nice holiday weekend.
No water at Railroad Camp despite the sign saying "trail to water." The only water along the trail was from Rocky Creek, a mile from the TH with the seasonal bridge, which flows out of Easton Glacier and is very very silty. I stayed two nights at High Camp (I counted 7 sites) 3.5mi from the TH, and day hiked a mile further to Sandy Camp, climber's base camp, to gawk at the glacier and magnificent views.
See picture for the hidden, tiny yet sufficient, late season water hole at High Camp - a 6 foot wide, 6 inch deep puddle, surprisingly clear and mosquito free. Water at Sandy Camp as well, 4.5mi from the TH, see other photo.
