Blandford Canyon — Sunday, Aug. 26, 2018

Southwest Washington > Vancouver Area
Lush with ivy....

We thought we'd check out this local trail and admire the trail work done earlier this year by the WTA!  We had to locate the trail at So Cliff Park in order to get started.  It's not marked but this just took a couple minutes.  There is a lot of ivy and we later discovered that we are not the only ones who noticed.   At our exit point we saw an Adopt a Park sign: "Blandford Canyon Ivy Pull Team".

The trail is in good shape.  It reminds me of when I was a kid,  checking out all the nooks and crannies in the wooded areas adjacent to our neighborhood- ya know the places only kids bother adventuring in.  We took the path down to Blandford Drive, crossed the road and up the path on the other side to DuBois Park.  We turned around and headed on the trail that went to the left this time, which led parallel to Blandford and dead ended at Evergreen Blvd.  So we headed back to where we originally crossed Blandford and returned to the other side.  Instead of going back up to the left, the way we came, we went to the right which lead us down and back up where the trail became wider and basically a lightly graveled access road for a short way before exiting at the corner of MacArthur & Blandford Drive.  We took the sidewalk along MacArthur and reentered the neighborhood on a cement access path passed a few houses and back to So. Cliff Park.

Dead end at Evergreen & Blandford
End of the trail for us at MacArthur Blvd & Blandford Dr.
