This was a great hike to do with all ages, the trail was in great shape and lots to see along the way, including chipmunks and falls. We hiked to the first lake, stopped there, swam, ate and relaxed and then decided to continue on to Olallie Lake. Continuing on to Olallie was a great choice - while Talapus was crowded, Olallie was quiet.
Notes for other hikers: 1. Our total distance, round trip was 6.25 miles. That included some hiking around Talapus to explore. Total time that we spent hiking and playing at the lakes was 4 hours. 2. We all applied bug spray and we were glad that we did. The bugs were a bit worse at Olallie, but mostly just annoying and nothing more.
