Silver Falls Loop — Saturday, May. 26, 2018

Mount Rainier Area > SE - Cayuse Pass/Stevens Canyon

This is a nice hike up to Silver Falls. We started from the Ohanapecosh Info center, where there is a gain in elevation for a mile, seeing several pretty small waterfalls, along the way. Up at Silver Falls, we crossed over the river. Wow! The falls were beautiful, so powerful. From there, we chose to return down toward the campgrounds to close a 3 mile loop. We took our 10 yr old son, and I’ll admit there were a few places that I was a little nervous about him slipping, or just not being as careful on the trail as I had wished he would be. He had a good time throwing rocks into the river and he loved the boulders and downed trees to cross.
