I left Olympia at 5:30 this morning and made it to the trailhead around 9:10 or so. There were a good number of cars in the parking lot, but based on the number of people I saw at the falls they may have been backpacking into High Divide or 7 Lakes Basin. By the time I took pictures and admired the amazing falls,10-15 other people had shown up. I saw quite a few groups heading in on the way back to my car.
There is a tree that has fallen over the trail not too far from the falls. It's easy enough to step over, but the kiddos might have a little trouble with it. (I've included a picture.) Based on the ONP website, they already know about the tree, so hopefully it will be taken care of soon! Otherwise the trail is in great condition, although there are some area that can get rocky and root-y. Bugs weren't too bad until I got to the falls. I had sprayed myself with Off before leaving the car, so they mostly left me alone.
