Mount Teneriffe — Sunday, Jun. 24, 2018

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Kamikaze Falls

Did the Mount Teneriffe loop - up via Kamikaze falls and the direct trail they do not want people to use anymore and down via the official long route.  From a selfish point of view, it is nice that most hikers go up via the tedious logging trail but a selfless point of view, it would be nice if the direct trail was maintained better because it is a fabulous hike.  Its steep, sometimes difficult under foot and in a few places you need to use hands, but pretty much the whole way up above the the falls is in filtered sun light on a ridge with views and once you get out of the trees the summit arrives quickly.  Spectacular views.  Coming down via the official route is long, quite exposed to the sun and at a tedious grade which neither gets you down quickly or is easy to walk.  Fit hikers can probably walk up it a close to normal speed and it would the perfect grade for the mountain stage of a bike race.  Lots of salmon berries about half way down

Mt Rainier
Glacier Peak
