We hiked on the Sunday before Memorial Day so the place was a little too crowded, parking was difficult to find. But the hike was just perfect. It is a short hike, pretty relaxing, and the trail through the woods is beautiful. After the picnic area (which is very clean), the view of the beach is sudden and amazing! The beach is also very beautiful at this part, with a great expanse of Puget Sound to be seen. We saw a lot of families with young kids and many dogs (leashed and well behaved) on the trail which means it is family friendly.
