The lovely William O Douglas wilderness sports a lovely early season hike, around the rim of the lake. Despite being early for campgrounds, intermittent forest road sites were available for the weekend. We had lovely days, rain starting in the evening over the weekend. The rivers and creeks are running high, so we chose not to ford anything without a solid log crossing, turning back at 3.1 miles in. Snowline is a bit above 5000 feet, but remains on some forest roads and high trails. Use caution and common sense.
