Rainy Lake — Sunday, May. 20, 2018

Snoqualmie Region > North Bend Area
Lots of waterfall views

After camping nearby, we decided to head up to Rainy Lake. The turn off is easy to find, but unmarked. The unmaintained trail is in fair shape. It's muddy, there are lots of roots to navigate, and there were a number of large downed trees. There were a few points where the trail became obscured and route finding was necessary. The elevation gain comes in very steep bursts broken up by flatter sections. Lots of wild flowers out, including trilliums, violets, and skunk cabbage. Sadly we had to turn around less than a mile from the lake due to lack of time. Snow free to at least 3,000 feet.
