The snow level was perfect to bring the SUV to the trailhead, and strap on the snowshoes! There is one small slide on the road that would be very difficult to navigate with a low clearance vehicle. The last 300 feet or so of roadway before the trailhead either washed out, or turned into a giant sinkhole. It was large enough, that I am skeptical it will be repaired. Great smooth trail in the snow, we ended up turning back about a mile from the pass due to a rough-looking bare creekbed transition with an exposed ledge. All in all, a great trip!
