Lena Lake — Saturday, Dec. 9, 2017

Olympic Peninsula > Hood Canal
View at the Lake

What a great late fall hike to go on, especially with the sun actually being out today. The road to the trailhead is paved the whole way and easy to get to, and the parking lot is big which is nice. I arrived around 8 am to one other car in the lot and left at 11 am to maybe 15 cars in the lot. This trail is really nice because it has a lot of amenities you don't normally see. Theres a bathroom at the trailhead, and at the lake (even though its closed for the winter), many signs pointing you in the right direction along the trail, and an pretty cool foot bridge to cross. The trail is very easy to navigate and has a gradual incline in elevation the whole time. The lake is huuuggeee and very beautiful, making the hike well worth the time. I think the weather inversion going on right now was really interesting, being that I started in the super cold fog where the trail was over. And as I climbed it got warmer and less foggy, and was even hot at the lake! Overall it's definitely a great hike I would recommend to anyone.
