I had a very good hike on the Tolmie Peak Trail. The pines smelled delicious and sweet, everyone I passed was happy to be there, and the trail wasn't overcrowded with ID-10-T's.
Be wary: I saw one pile of cougar scat and multiple piles of bear scat (it's like they don't even chew the blueberries!) I had a bell on and my bear spray. I met a lot of people who liked to mention my bell grabbed their attention and, when informed, admittedly did not notice any of the multiple piles of bear shit in the woods (had to say it).
Despite the Norse Peak fire bringing on the doom-and-gloom filter to all my photos, I earned my mountain brownie and was treated to a nevertheless spectacular view of Mons Obscura herself. Also seen from the ridgeline were: Mt Baker, Glacier Peak, Olympics, downtown Seattle, Port of Tacoma, and my favorite, Mt St Helens.
The only friend I made was a dropped A&W Rootbeer plastic bottle full of spent sunflower seeds (gag).
