We had the Ancient + Dusty Lakes to ourselves this weekend. We were afraid of the air quality from the Central Cascade fires, but we had blue skies and fresh desert air. We had a 0.5 mile hike from our car and a 1 mile hike to Dusty Lake below our campsite. It was perfect. I recommend it as a wildfire getaway backpacking trip.
