You might need help on this trail.

Hi my  name is Switchback Ladybug. I am 6 years old. today I hiked the Johnson Medra trail. it was hard because I had to walk 10 miles. You should bring lots of snacks. You should also bring lots of water. Do not take your bike. I saw some bikers. They looked tired. There was a lot of trees that fell down. I will show you in some of the pictures. There was some snow at the top but there might not be any more. We camped close to the trail head. I loved it. I saw a deer but he might not come back.

Switchback Ladybug family notes: Did we really hike 10 miles?! Well, according to our pedometer app, we took 20,023 steps over 6 hours - so if you believe that kind of thing, it was 10 miles  or 5 miles each way. We were ready to turn back anytime she wanted to but she wanted to keep going. Yay. Snacks (M&Ms), singing and LOTS and LOTS of breaks were key. In full disclosure, Switchback Ladybug initially authored her report on paper and I typed it. It was too much to do both this time around and it's time for bed.

Sometimes the trail is hard to see.
This was our turnaround point. My dad said that is Esmerelda Basin.
