Trip Report

Evergreen Mountain Lookout — Tuesday, Jun. 27, 2017

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - West

Can't believe I didn't know about this hike before. Perhaps the many miles on a forest road was an hinderance? The drive to the trail head was a little scary for me, luckily I had a great chauffeur, who was not afraid. It was absolutely worth it though. We were glad that a previous trip report suggested to bring microspikes and poles. That came in handy, esp if you have creaky knees who have walked this Earth for more than 70 years! We were the only car at the trail head and it almost felt lonely. However a young couple came up after us and we compared notes on many other hikes we both had travelled on at the lookout. Amazing 360 views and the perfect weather for hiking at around 70 degrees. Highly recommend this short fabulous adventure in pure nature.
