Trip Report

Dash Point State Park — Thursday, May. 18, 2017

Puget Sound and Islands > Seattle-Tacoma Area

This was our first time hiking Dash Point and we had small children with us (ages 7, 4, and 20 months). We started on the main trailhead from the beach parking lot and then diverted to the Outbound Trail (marked as an In and Out). At some point we must have picked up the Boundary Trail as we ended up at the bridge which was out. It's all boarded up and obvious that hikers have been scrambling down into the river bed and back up the other side since they can't access the bridge to get across. We weren't able to do this with small children so we turned back. Trails were muddy in some spots but not too bad overall. Lots of mushrooms, water, slugs, and flowers to keep the kids excited during the hike. Oh, and a log slide! :)

Log slide!
Lots of mushrooms for the observant eye.
So many wildflowers.
