Took the campground loop trail from the resort to the falls on a rainy day. Normally we would try lovers lane but we thought it might be in rough shape in terms of trees and mud, so we thought we would attempt the campground loop trail first. Snow fields cover quite a few areas and we had to back track to find the trail. Lots and lots of downed trees that completely blocked the trail, including the trail to the campground, so we bush whacked a lot... 2.5 miles took well over an hour. See photo for the trail that now goes vertical where the path beside the tree was also uprooted - the tree is lying along the length of the trail. Work parties needed! Muddy, wet, snowy, with scrambling and big falls. It was fun but the kids decided that it would be faster to walk back along the road so we could get back in the hot tubs. In other words, attempting lovers lane was not even an option based on the loop trail conditions. Maybe in another month and after some trail maintenance it will be more passable?
