We took the trail from the Sol Duc Hot Spring Resort - hoping to make a longer hike to get to the falls. It winds through the camp grounds and along the Sol Duc River. There were many large trees blocking the trail and lots of obstacles - which can be fun and challenging if you're prepared for that. We ended up turning back when we reached an area bout 2 miles in where the combination of trees down and large patches of snow just made it a bit too challenging. Ended up just driving to the end of the road and taking the trail to the falls from that trailhead the next day.
