Central Cascades > Leavenworth Area
Sauer's Mountain by riverdog
It was a beautiful spring day to head up Sauer's Mountain with my 2 fav hiking pals. We got to the trail head around 10am and only one other car in Not too many wild flowers yet, but it was obvious in the next few weeks they will be blooming. The views were stunning. The trail is in great condition. Towards the top there is some snow and mud, can be pretty slick. In the way down I did use poles in the snowy areas. Sat on rocks at the summit sunning ourselves and met a new friend...cute little lizard enjoying the warm sun as well. Do keep an eye out for ticks. They are out! I can't count how many times I have been on this trail, and it's always different, but always wonderful. As a local, I think the views are the best in the area! I'm sure I'll be back in a few weeks to see the flowers blooming! Parking area full when we came back down. Perfect day for the perfect hike
