Trip Report
Burley Mountain, Angel Falls Loop — Saturday, Mar. 25, 2017
South Cascades > White Pass/Cowlitz River Valley
After going down and figuring out the road approach to Lava Canyon from Randle was a no-go, we decided to come give Covel Creek Falls and company a try. Falls were flowing killer, trail was in a great condition, the only thing was that there weren't any bridges across the creek, but I don't know if that is normal or not. After going behind the falls, we decided to continue and split off up the Burley Mountain trail, being quite aware that there would be snow and we probably wouldn't make it up with our turn around time. We probably got less than half a mile from the 7605 road before we turned around, there was some intermittent snow about 1/4 of the way up, and about halfway up when the trail wasn't on a cliff anymore there was snow all over. It looked like we were the first people to go up there all season as we broke trail and there wasn't really much sign of any old footprints. Can't wait to go back!
