Hiked to Lake Serene today. Ice and snow on and off for first half of the trail turning to snow covered for the last half of the trail with post holing required at points. Recommend snow shoes or at least micro spikes to reach the lake. We saw many avalanches across the lake, be careful crossing snow fields.
