The falls!
Super cool hike that we'd not done before. The thing that made it easy for navigating was the snow today, as we could see where the majority of the footprints went. We only saw one person, then fortunately met a group of 5 that confirmed we were walking the right way. We got to the last creek crossing (one that goes into Cherry Creek down below the falls a hundred yards or so) and instead of crossing there, went down to the right to an easier crossing. Not too bad and didn't get a foot wet. Fantastic falls and there are a couple of huge cool trees there. Another fellow there went down the creek on a trail that eventually connects back. It's a bit brushy looking there. We went partially back the same route, then dipped to the left and looped around for about a mile, re-connecting to the main trail back at a big trail intersection. Again, seeing lots of footprints was helpful! Lots of crunchy 1/4 inch to 1-inch snow on the lesser trails but the main trails are clear. Should be great all week with lots of pretty snow in the trees.
