This was my first time hiking Franklin Falls, and I'm so glad I did it! My friend and I were looking for a pretty hike to do in the snow, and this hike checked off all of our boxes. It's only two miles (3 miles round trip from car since you have to walk to the trailhead), no elevation gain and absolutely gorgeous.
We arrived at approximately 9:30 AM and there were a few cars parked. However, there were twice the amount of cars there when we were leaving - I'd suggest arriving early before the latecomers arrive. This is a great hike for families and dogs, so we saw a lot of them on our hike back to the car.
No snowshoes required, there is so much traffic the trail is packed down. I will definitely return!

Franklin Falls with dogs
thank you for the update on the trail - you definitely think its ok to bring dogs? Also, since everyone is having to park on the road, does the park pass seem to be necessary? thank you

It's definitely okay to bring dogs, we must have seen 20 of them on the trail. I don't think the pass is needed since you're parking on the road and not in the park. I have 4WD, but I saw cars with front wheel drive that made it there just fine as well.

Franklin Falls - roads
How were the road conditions getting there? Is front wheel or 4 wheel drive a necessity? Thanks again
