Chain Lakes Loop — Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016

WOW. Get thee there soon. Stunning 7 mile loop. This was probably the slowest hike I've done in a while; I kept stopping to take pictures. The blueberries are on fire right now, and delicious! The lakes were emerald green, the trail was in great condition except for a few muddy parts, lots of friendly hikers about, all of us stupidly in awe of the beauty at every turn. No larches. Aaaall blueberry magic. I went for the Upper Wild Goose Trail first, then came back around on Chain Lakes up to the Austin Pass visitor Center where I had parked. Good amount of climbing, descent and flats; plenty of great places to pause and admire the scenery. Oh, note: If you found a Samsung Galaxy phone on the trail, and you magically see this, please comment to let me know! And to the folks with dogs, A++ on having dogs under control, easy to put on leash. Not a single bad encounter for my dog-aggressive dog!
