Fallen Leaf Lake — Monday, Aug. 1, 2016

Southwest Washington > Vancouver Area
Lake Entrance
Fallen Leaf Lake Trail is located at 2911 NE Everett St., Camas, WA 98607. The entrance is signed with a small brown sign and there is a narrow gravel drive way to the trailhead and parking area. The facilities can be reserved from the Camas Parks and Recreation office at 360-834-5307. Fallen Leaf Lake has numerous trails south of the lake including one that goes all the way around the south side of the lake. It is near the very popular LaCamas Heritage trail and Round Lake Trail yet is rarely traveled. Mountain bicyclers have built narrown bridges across all water crossings from fallen logs with wire mesh coverings. The park is quiet most of the time except when the facilities are rented or a ball game is being played near the south entrance to the trails. Leashes are required in the park but not on the trails for those hiking with their pups, it is a great place for dogs to explore this natural forested trail and for their humans to get a great workout hiking up and down the hills. Most of the pine trees are covered with ivy and ivy also covers the ground in almost all areas around the trails. There are ripe blackberries along the trail ready for picking, along with plenty of ferns. Geese, ducks, large turtles, fish, frogs, squirrels, rabbits, deer and little blue heron can be seen at the lake or on the trails.
