North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway

Lovely late afternoon hike with a lot of interesting features; beautiful old growth scenery, wooden walkways and the reward of a gorgeous lake setting at trails end. As the other reports state, there a lot of potholes on the gravel road to the trail head. It's passable with a small vehicle, but I cannot state emphatically enough that you must go slow and take your time. Go slowly!! If not, you will likely break a strut...
