Trip Report
Meander Meadow - Dishpan Gap - Cady Ridge Loop — Wednesday, Jul. 27, 2016
Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - East
We started on the little wenatchee river trail towards Meander Meadows. I had read this trail was overgrown, I did not understand the level to which it was. This trail is TERRIBLY OVERGROWN, we bushwhacked for six miles, the entire way to the meadows. If it has been rainy at all you will get wet wet wet! We were entirely soaked by the time we made it to our first destination, I definitely recommend rain paints and waterproof boots. You also gain almost all of your elevation in the last mile or two to the meadows. The meadows themselves are beautiful and the flowers are out! There is a babbling brook and waterfall, if this is your destination it is a great one! After leaving meander meadows the trail is wonderful, well maintained on the PCT and for the most part snow free with fabulous views. We made a side trip to Lake Sally Ann to fill up on water, baby marmots and waterfalls make this another great place to stay but we pushed on to Cady Ridge. Our green trails map show a place to camp up on the ridge, a little over a mile from the lake. We never found it, but found a lovely open meadow that looked over to Glacier peak and down to where we were the day before. On Sunday, it was a steep trail down to Cady creek trail and then a flat easygoing trail to the car. There aren't any water sources up on Cady Ridge so make sure you fill up before, and there were also a ton of ripe huckleberries on the trail! One last note, we saw lots of fresh bear scat but never saw him, be bear aware!
