Trip Report

Twin Lakes (Wenatchee) — Sunday, Jul. 10, 2016

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - East
Generally, a pretty enough hike to a rather unremarkable set of lakes. The old cabin at the second lake is cool, though you can't explore it. The old fish hatchery scaffolding is neat enough. However, there's no great place to hang out and lunch at either lake, and no great camping, either. The trail just before the lake, and at the lake, is quite over grown. There are several blow-downs on the way up (as others have noted). Didn't have any trouble finding the stream crossing - the river looks quite a bit lower than in some trip report photos a few weeks ago and we were able to cross on some logs without getting our feet wet. There is a cairn marking the way to the makeshift bridge. A cool spot to scope out, but there are some great hikes in the area. If you're camping nearby and need a short hike, go for it! This is a great leg stretcher. Otherwise, not really worth a special trip.
