Started toward Burnt Rock on the Divide Camp trail (trailhead on road 2329 - VERY ROUGH!). Mosquitoes at the trailhead were like out of a horror movie – not one second after pulling up they were kamikazeing the windshield and windows. We literally had to run around the parking lot putting clothes and backpacks on. Ran up the trail a short bit and startled a herd of elk which hopped out of view toward West Adams Creek. First snow patches at about 5400' but persistent snow was well above the PCT junction. After turning right on the PCT the snow began to get heavy after a half mile. Much meltwater was running everywhere. Still springtime up there.
Road 2329 impassable by all vehicles except ATV's. (see photos)

If you come in from the south on FR 23, past Takhlakh Lake, the road isn't (or at least, shouldn't be) rough. This washout was caused by the major rain storms that struck the GPNF this winter. The washout (mentioned in their map) is only there if you are coming in from Packwood. (Unless this is another washout???)

I, too, would be interested in knowing which direction Spruce Moose came in on 2329.

True, the washout on 2329 is north of the trailhead (disconnecting it from Packwood). However, 2329 is in such bad shape after takhlakh lake that I can't recommend it unless you have high clearance vehicle. My sedan had a hell of a time negotiating the washouts and large rocks (bit to be confused with the impassable washout mentioned earlier).

Well actually the worst sections are between divide Camp th and killen creek cg. If traveling from trout lake 2329 is just "regular rough" until the th.

Any idea how far the washout is from the trailhead (approaching from the north/packwood) - is it a long hike?

It is probably two miles or more. But there is almost no elevation difference.
