I hit the trail at 8:15 for a pleasant PCT hike to the Kendall Katwalk. Substantial snow starts 0.5 miles before the Katwalk at an elevation of 5400 feet. The snow dissuaded some hikers from continuing to the Katwalk, as a few nimble steps are needed. I used poles and boot traction, but most hikers managed the soft snow in just boots or runners. Beyond the Katwalk, the snow is nearly continuous.
Thank you to the trail crews at work clearing the large blowdowns.
No bugs.
