Mirror and Cottonwood Lakes — Sunday, Jun. 19, 2016

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Before I say anything, here's a warning: the road leading up to the trail is not in a good condition. Especially, if you don't have a four wheel drive car, it is very difficult to reach to the trail head. Trail conditions are not good either and there are ABSOLUTELY no markers to tell you which way to go. The hike is very nice and relaxing with very little altitude gain. Most of the altitude gain is from the trail head to the spot where you will diverge to the mirror lake trail. There is no indicator, except a stump of wood that marks where you should turn to go towards the lake. There are streams to cross but stepping stones or fallen trees can be found very easily that helps. Fallen trees will be found on the trail as well and I thought climbing over them adds a teeny bit of adventure. Little patches of snow were seen on the shadowy side near the lake, but that is not causing any problem for the hike. The lake is a beautiful shade of blue and green and there were no one around there when we reached. It is a nice spot to eat a little snack, relax and then head down. Note: Wear waterproof hiking boots.
