Talapus and Olallie Lakes — Sunday, May. 15, 2016

Snoqualmie Region > Snoqualmie Pass
Olallie 360 degree
First time I have done this hike and I had no idea how popular it was. Got to the trailhead about 8am and there was about 12 vehicles in the lot, most I assume were campers. When I got back to the trailhead at about noon the entire lot was full and cars were parked down the road for an additional 100 yards, so if you want to do this hike recommend going a little earlier. No snow on the trail until you begin hiking up to Olallie Lake, and what is left is pretty compacted and tracks make it fairly easy to determine the right way to go. Its still wet so would still wear water proof shoes if you have them. Wandered around Olallie Lake for a while, if you want a good vantage point I recommend going to the far end of the lake where there is a little outcrop of land you can walk out onto. That where I took my pictures. Tried out taking a 360 degree picture with my phone, turned out better than I expected. Also if you have not hiked in the Alpine lakes wilderness, the pass is free. You just have to fill out a card and drop it in the box.
