Trip Report

Little Ranger Peak via Ranger Creek — Sunday, Apr. 3, 2016

Mount Rainier Area > Chinook Pass - Hwy 410
Went up on April first, trailhead is unmarked across from Buck Creek Recreation Area, started at Ranger Creek Trail and that led us to the right trail. The trail is in good condition, a dozen or so blow downs but nothing terrible to cross. We made it about 1 mile from the summit and ran into about a foot of snow, we didn't have the right gear and the grade was pretty steep so we turned around. Give it a week to melt out and I bet you can make it to the top easy. The trail to the lookout (only 2.6 miles in) is completely snow free. Only saw one other person all day, its a nice getaway on the woods.
