Reached the Jack Pine trailhead at 9am. The paved section of Icicle Creek road had been patched and was great. The gravel section on the other hand is increasingly washboarded and potholed. Hiked 8 miles or so in, up to the junction with the Van Epps trail. The trail was in good condition: There were 10-20 blowdowns, but only one or two required some effort to get over/around, and only one of the many small stream crossings required some balancing in order to avoid wet feet. The fords for connecting to the Meadow Creek and Van Epps Trails on the other hand looked challenging: Jack Creek was at least knee deep and fast-flowing. Encountered only two parties on the trail, even though the campgrounds in the area were all full this weekend, and the weather decent. Passed many nice (and all unoccupied) campsites along the river.

Thanks for the report
Thanks, Eric. I enjoyed all your photos. From what I see in your photos, Jack Creek gets more use than I had thought it does; looks really pretty, and nice views! A unique idea for a trip!
