Trip Report

Peek-a-Boo Lake — Friday, Jan. 2, 2015

North Cascades > Mountain Loop Highway
Road about a mile or so before the trialhead.
Almost got stuck in the snow about 1.5 miles before the trailhead. Got out using 4WD and tire chains. Got stopped for good about .5 mile farther because of a tree across the road. It wasn't down but low enough and with enough branches that I couldn't pass. So we parked there and hiked the mile or so to the trailhead and up the trail a little ways. We didn't go to far so I don't have a report on the trail itself. I'd say there was about 8 inches of snow at the trailhead and it was coming down when we left. I'll have to come back another day and be more prepared for the snow. Also the GPS coordinates for the trailhead aren't exactly correct. It ends at the split between NF-2081 and 2083. Take a right at that split (2083 goes left) and follow that a ways to 2086.
