Sweet Creek Falls Interpretive Trail — Monday, Sep. 1, 2014

Eastern Washington > Selkirk Range
History of Sweet Creek Falls.
This little hike is the perfect place to stop and stretch one's legs while driving to or returning from longer hikes in the nearby Colville National Forest. Today I noticed an American dipper hanging out in the pools beneath the falls. I also noticed some massive white pines along the footpath to the falls. For a rest-stop hike adjacent to the highway, this little trail has some awesome trees! Like this trip report? I forgot my tripod, so I set my camera on the retaining wall for this one. A little out of focus, but the falls are still pretty!
The trail signs here never cease to crack me up. This one is because the trail changes from pavement to gravel. After 40+ miles of traipsing around the Salmo Priest & Colville NF trails over the weekend, I know a thing or two about difficult trails. This ain't one of them! :)
Um...if the garbage thingie is full, pack it out, folks. All of this trash ended up coming home with me since whoever put it there was too dumb to think about how wildlife would get into it.
