White Pine Creek, Icicle Creek, Frosty - Wildhorse Creek & Bulls Tooth Loop — Friday, Aug. 29, 2014

Central Cascades > Stevens Pass - East
A nice part of trail #1582
The negative trail conditions I listed apply to trail #1582 (Whitepine Creek). That trail has almost returned to nature. It really needs a sign or note from the park service to that effect. We managed a little under one mile an hour for six miles. One other party was a little quicker than us but they didn't manager much more than a mile an hour. The weeds are pretty thick. Much of the time you cannot see your feet. Several times we lost the trail and it took a half an hour or so to find it again (and we are pretty good at following footpaths). Josephine Lake was nice as was Lake Margaret. Most of the rest of the trail was pretty nice. We really liked the trail from Lake Margaret to Road 6950 and not just because it was the way out. The trail above 5000 feet was really pretty and had lots of ripe blueberries.
