Mount Rainier Area > NW - Carbon River/Mowich

Road leading to the trailhead is experiencing erosion issues, moderate clearance vehicle recommended. Expect to encounter snow in places at Twin Lakes. Ice in places as you turn to transverse the mountain towards the lake. Approximately 1/3 mile from the lake is where the snow starts and remains solid. The lake is still frozen over, but patches are free near the west shore. Even with the snow on the lake and the ground, the bugs are emerging at the lake.
