No snow yet. Trail is in good shape. No one was writing tickets at the trail head today. It's not legal anyway. The 9th circuit court of apeals ruled that it is not legal to charge people just to park in the forest and use a trail. If you use the out house though, then you need a bathroom pass, that is the Northwest Forest Pass. I got a ticket at Lena Lake once when I was displaying my pass on my dash just like we have always been told to do. That was years ago, I've been afraid to hike at Lena Lake ever since. So I took the bus, that way it was impossible for the forest service to write me an ilegal ticket.
